Dr. Rachel (Spooner) Murphy, MD

Dr. Murphy founded Pismo Health with the patient in mind. As a board-certified family physician, Dr. Murphy (formerly Spooner) believes that strong patient–doctor relationships are the cornerstone of good medicine. Through the Direct Primary Care model, Dr. Murphy provides comprehensive, unhurried care without the barriers and frustrations of traditional insurance-based systems. After earning a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completing residency training in Family Medicine at The University of Arkansas For Medical Sciences, Dr. Murphy has devoted the last eight years to building meaningful relationships with patients in an effort to help them achieve their health and wellness goals.

At Pismo Health, Dr. Murphy is improving access by offering same-day or next-day visits, virtual consultations, and direct communication whenever patients need it most.

Outside the office, Dr. Murphy enjoys spending time with family, traveling, walking and supporting her kids in their activities and pursuits.
